All Hallow's Eve in Ft. Collins. A party here, a party there, and an outing to the bars netted some great shots. I'm not really sure what I was supposed to be, but the common consensus was the Asian Pimp Fairy. Looking at the pics, "fairy" is about right.

The mining town of Potosi, Bolivia provided one of the more interesting tours of the trip where we went deep into a mountain and witnessed miners who could have stepped out of an 18th century book.

Glaciar Perito Moreno

One of the few advancing (or at least non-receding) glaciers in the world, we weren't even planning on seeing this sight. However, after Jules sprained her ankle, we decided this would be a fun thing to go see, as it didn't involve any walking. Turned out to be pretty damn cool.

Puerto Natales is the gateway town for el Parque Nacional Torres del Paine. They also have an endearing nearby attraction that causes the entire town to be entirely obsessed with the Milodn.

Jules and I did the shorter 5-day "W" circuit in el Parque Nacional Torres del Paine, famous for both los Torres and los Cuernos (horns). Getting up at 5 AM to make the 45 minute hike up to the Torres mirador (lookout) was well worth the effort.

Argentina car photo essay

While Jules was chained to the hostel bed, one of the things I did to amuse myself was to take pictures of various interesting cars in El Calafate. The VW Fox was pretty intriguing; I'm curious why it's not here in the States. Also, I saw some crazy stuff like a diesel version of a Ford Escort (alas, no picture). Fuel there is about $4 per gallon, and diesel slightly less.

Parque Nacional Los Glaciares, our first trek. There are pleny of famous climbing mountains here, such as Cerro Torre and Monte Fitz Roy. Jules' ankle was still busticated so I ended up with a super-heavy pack

El Calafate

Not a very inspiring place, El Calafate is the gateway town to the Perito Moreno Glaciar as well as el Parque Nacional Glaciares. We spent way too long here as Jules sprained her ankle coming down the hostel steps. A suitably boring collection of photos is inside.

Cementario de la Recoleta

On an overcast day, Jules and I visited the Cementario de la Recoleta, the place where many of Argentina's elite are buried. We saw some beautiful stained glass, Evita's tomb, and a lot of cats, among other things.
