autopylot - automatic blog posting
autopylot allows you to write multiple, pre-recorded blog entries and then post them to your blog at the rate of one per day, if and only if you have not already posted on that day. In other words, it’s a handy dandy tool for automatic blog posts.

download

  • autopylot.python (rename to autopylot.py after download)

    usage notes

    • autopylot is a python script
    • autopylot has only been tested with MovableType
    • You will need to edit the script so that it has your blog username, id, password, path to your blog’s XML-RPC interface, and path to your pre-recorded entries
    • You will want to run autopylot from a cron job. My crontab looks like this:
      • 0 7 * * * /home/achiang/local/bin/autopylot.py
    • if a pre-recorded post is successfully posted on your blog, autopylot will delete the pre-recorded post!

    issues

    • this is v1.0
    • is this worthy of sourceforge?
    • if a pre-recorded post is successfully posted on your blog, autopylot will delete the pre-recorded post!
    • lots of room for improvements, but this will do for now. patches are welcome.

Alex, I just ran across this script and I would really appreciate it if you could contact me about it. Not being a programmer myself, I have been looking for something like this for a good while and now that I’ve found it I would love to talk with you about it. Furthmore, if you are interested in making money with this script then I have a fairly simple yet effective way you could monetize this.

Please contact me as soon as possible.
