wide load
A new member of the family showed up today. I’ve been dreaming of the 10-22 in the middle for a long time now, but never pulled the trigger until now. This photo was taken with my kit lens.
Travel itself isn’t so expensive, but ancillary photo gear purchases add up quick.
And this is what it can do. I swapped the kit with the 10-22 and pretty much stood in the same position. Look how much wider I can get!
This is what counts as excitement in my world.

i am significantly jealous of your purchase. significantly.
Those 10-22 EF-S lenses are pretty friggin’ sweet. I love my Sigma 10-20, and it’s no Canon lens!
Why a 17-55 AND 18-55? Isn’t that like 2 of the same thing, nearly? Does the 17-55 give you an extra f-stop?
Well, the 18-55 is the POS kit lens that originally came with the camera. I shot with it for about 6 or 7 months. It’s pretty slow: F3.5 fully wide, F5.6 fully zoomed.
The 17-55 has been my workhorse since I bought it and it is much much nicer. It’s got a constant F2.8 throughout the entire zoom range.
