wake me up, i’m dreaming
Woah.
The Mini-Note PC costs $500 for a version based on the open-source Linux operating system, and $600 for one based on Microsoft’s (MSFT) Windows XP or Vista.
Can this really be happening? HP is making hardware that I am actually excited for, there’s official Linux support, and you don’t have to pay the Microsoft tax. Color me giddy. This laptop might be top candidate for round-the-world travel tech. Makes me almost (but not quite) wish I hadn’t bought an OLPC. No word on what distro we’re officially shipping with it.
For one brief, glorious moment, I have an idea of what it must like to be an Apple employee.
Edit: Looks like it’s gonna run SLED10. hp 2133 on hpshopping.com
