Spent the last weekend in Gunnison, CO, and it was quite the blast. My old friend John Peterson is now a professor at Western State College, and invited me to give a talk in his seminar class. So I went down on Thursday, and inbetween mountain biking at Harman Rocks (in John’s backyard!) and climbing at Colorado National Monument, I spoke to about 7 undergraduates and some other assorted folks about a variety of topics, but mostly focused on low-level systems programming and how to handle the real world. If you’re interested in the slides, they’re on the the wiki. The topic of my talk was Itanium Servers and 3 PM Naps: How to Stop Worrying and Love Working for the Man.
